  1. Act 1, Scene 2 page 32: Line 34~42

    Sergeant
    Yes;
As sparrows eagles, or the hare the lion.
If I say sooth, I must report they were
As cannons overcharged with double cracks, so they
Doubly redoubled strokes upon the foe:
Except they meant to bathe in reeking wounds,
    Or memorise another Golgotha,
    I cannot tell.
But I am faint, my gashes cry for help.

    Modern English version:
Yes, As sparrows eagles, or the hare the lion (??). If i tell you the truth,
I must say that they were fierce to their enemy as if cannons were overcharged
with double cracks; therefore, they were extremely violent and brutal upon them (their enemy).
They were tremendously vicious to the point that they might've wanted to bathe in their enemy's blood
    in remembrance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary or Golgotha. I do not know;
however, I know that I am weak and in pain, my wounds are crying out for help.

That now Sweno, the Norways’ king, craves composition; 60 Nor would we deign, him burial of his men
Till he disbursed, at Saint Colme’s Inch,
Ten thousand dollars to our general use.

    Ross :
So that now Sweno, the Norways’ king, begs for terms of peace ; 60 North would we make , him inhumation of his man
Till he pay , at Saint Colme’s Island,
Ten thousand danish silver coins to our general use.

  3. Act 1, Scene 4, Page 43, Line 5-10

    Malcolm
    My liege,
They are not yet come back; but I have spoke
With one that saw him die; who did report
That very frankly he confess’d his treasons, 5
Implor’d your highness’ pardon and set forth
A deep repentance. Nothing in his life
Became him like the leaving it; he died
As one that had been studied in his death
To throw away the dearest thing he ow’d, 10
    As ’twere a careless trifle

    Modern English version:
    My lightning,
They are not come back yet; but i have spoke
To the witness; who give evidence
    And said the truth, 5
According to your highness I already
Shared a deep condolence. In all his life
He is not choose to do that; he died
    Like the others dead too
To say goodbye to his loving thing in this world
As someone who is not becareful of the value thing
